Exciting pre-semifinals
As a quite exciting phase can we only characterize the pre-semifinals
of the 1st Men-Women World Deaf Championship, that were ended on Tuesday night,
since the first team made it to the semi-finals on the overtime, while the
second one after the penalties.
Concerning our Men's Deaf National Team,
"a spontaneous negligence" cost our participation in the semifinals,
since on the 119th min. of the game last night against Turkey and while the
score was 1-1, the Greek Team was cancelled formally (3-0), when it was
confirmed that a member of our delegation was competing with deaf-aid,
which is against the rules of the World Deaf Championship.
RESULTS
The results of the pre-semifinals are as follows:
(Men)
England-Thailand 1-4
Netherlands-Ukraine 3-7
Venezuela-China 0-1
Germany-Russia 2-0
France-Ireland 2-1, (1-1 regular game)
United States-Italy 4-2, penalties (1-1 regular game, 2-2 overtime)
